Acting on a tip from my sister in-law; my parents, sister, wife and I embarked on our mission to satisfy our post-wedding hangovers with some excellent breakfast.
At first inspection Club Bart is closer to a hole-in-the wall rock joint, than a culinary retreat, but first impressions are often wrong.
The first thing that struck my fancy was the "Big and Gooey Cinnamon Role". It was big, and it was gooey, and oh so good. I can say, the buttery goodness melted on top of the role made the entire trip worth it.
The other highlight of the meal was the breakfast tostada. It was so enormous that my mom and sister split it, and had leftovers. The dish consists of two tostada shells covered in shredded chicken with jalapenos, cheese, avocado spread, salsa, and any number of other Mexican-ish delights.
I went with the old standby of Eggs Benedict. While the English muffin was just adequate, the Eggs where cooked nicely, and the Ham was excellent. I'm not a fan of most hollandaise sauces, although theirs was quite lite and buttery.
Needless to say, the next time I find myself in Ferndale, Club Bart will be on my mind.
Overall I would give Club Bart 4 of 5 stars.
